How to create and use of a work plane in COMSOL Multiphysics

In 3D geometries, it is very necessary create sketches in a specific plane in order to gain perfect geometry with details. In COMSOL Multiphysics we can use work plane and do so. In this tip the Heating Circuit CMS is used.

Work Plane 1 (wp1)

  1. In the Geometry toolbar, click Work Plane.
  2. In the Settings window for Work Plane, locate the Plane Definition section.
  3. In the z-coordinate text field, type 2.
  4. Click Show Work Plane.

Click the Zoom Extents button in the Graphics toolbar.

Work Plane 1 (wp1)>Square 1 (sq1)

  1. In the Work Plane toolbar, click Square.
  2. In the Settings window for Square, locate the Size section.
  3. In the Side length text field, type 10.
  4. Locate the Position section. In the xw text field, type 7.
  5. In the yw text field, type 10.
  6. Click Build Selected.

We use COMSOL Multiphysics, MATLAB, and Autodesk Inventor.
